How do I create custom fields for my Subscriber List?

ClientContactPro provides facility to create custom subscriber fields which can help you to store some other important data related to the client – such as his birthdate, anniversary, country, designation and anything else which you can think of.

In order to create custom fields click on the “Custom fields” under the particular list. You should see the custom field creation screen along with the existing custom fields associated with the subscriber list.

As shown in the above screenshot we can see that there are two custom fields already created for the subscriber list “First Name” and “Last Name”.

ClientContactPro provides you with the several field types which can be used to capture extra data from your subscribers. There are two methods to create the new custom fields – one is to create it using the “Create a new custom field” link or you can click on “Copy custom fields from another subscriber list” and copy it directly from there.

When you click on the “Create a new custom field” you should see a screen as shown below.

Now select the field name, field type, the default value of the field and the validation method. Once all the fields are populated you can just click on the “Create” button and create your custom field.

What different types of custom fields can be created?

ClientContactPro allows you to create mainly 6 types of custom fields. You can create the following different types

  • Single Line
  • Paragraph Text
  • Multiple Choice
  • Drop down
  • Checkboxes
  • Hidden Fields

Can I have the validation rules applied to the custom fields created?

Yes – ClientContactPro allows you to create a validation rules in order to validate your custom field data which is being collected. For example you need to create a field to capture the subscribers website address – you can validate it using the URL validation method available while creating the custom fields. Below are the validation techniques built into ClientContactPro custom field creation.

Can I disable the validation?

Yes – just select the “disabled” option from your drop down menu of “Validation Method”. This will allow you to capture the data without making it necessary for your end user to enter only a certain type of data for your custom fields.
